Our room was not ready when we arrived. We went next door to Mimi’s and had some lunch. I had a cranberry/walnut/blue cheese salad, vegetable soup and a pumpkin muffin. The food was fresh, tasty and hot. Victoria had corn dogs, off to a healthy start. Our room was ready at 3pm and we tossed our stuff in the room. We are on the sixth floor of the hotel, facing the Disneyland Park. You can see the fireworks outside nightly.
We met Lynn and her friend Sandy at the lobby of the Grand California Hotel. The lobby reminds me of the Wilderness Lodge and Lynn’s room reminds of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sandy’s daughter, Jessica, is as tall as Victoria, though a year younger. Victoria was very nervous about getting along with the girls. She was thrilled to see Mary and her worries for nothing. The girls all got along wonderfully! We headed over to Disneyland Park and rode Pirates of the Carribean first followed by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, screaming our heads off for fun. We toured more of the park, dragging our feet. We received a message from Sandra wishing us well.
The girls had pizza and we headed back to our hotels. We took showers and Victoria was in bed by 9pm. I heard her say, “mama I’m not going to stay awake for the fireworks” and she fell asleep.
